The Kiwa Initiative highlighted in a joint statement by France and Australia in favour of biodiversity!

The Kiwa Initiative was highlighted in a joint statement by France and Australia in favour of #biodiversity!

While the consequences of climate change directly threaten the Pacific people, the French Head of State congratulates Australia's bold commitments in terms of greenhouse gas reduction, which has set a target of zero emissions by 2050.

In this context, Emmanuel Macron recalled the importance of developing Nature-based Solutions #NbS to foster climate resilience:

"France also congratulates Australia's commitment to advancing Nature-based Solutions to fight against climate change and protect biodiversity in the Indo-Pacific region, and in particular its leadership role in the International Blue Carbon Partnership, as well as its commitment to an additional $2 million contribution to the Kiwa Initiative For Biodiversity and Climate Change."
