Follow-up to the project:

On September 22–23, 2025, in Majuro (Marshall Islands), the inception workshop of the Kiwa Women’s Work project, set the stage for a transformative three-year program. The project aims to restore vital coastal ecosystems — mangroves, seagrass meadows, and reef flats — that sustain food security, provide coastal protection, and support livelihoods.
The inception workshop of the Women’s Work project brought together more than 20 participants, including local leaders, women’s associations, and government representatives.
Led by the Micronesia Conservation Trust in partnership with the Marshall Islands Conservation Society, the initiative places women at the center of planning and implementation. In the atolls of Aur, Namo, and Wotho, women’s groups, as holders of traditional knowledge, play a pivotal role in sustainable resource management.
By championing inclusive participation and women’s leadership, Women’s Work fosters stronger resilience to climate change across Micronesia.
