Visit to the PEBACC+ project in Kouaoua
06 February 2024
The PEBACC+ team in New Caledonia met with local communities in Kouaoua to identify climate change impacts and appropriate ecosystem-based adaptation (EbA) options.
After three participatory workshops held between November 2023 and January 2024, the priority topics selected are:
- water security and quality for freshwater supply
- habitat for key species
- subsistence agriculture
- bushfire management
- invasive species management
- agroforestry capacity building.
These activities are being carried out as part of the Pacific Ecosystem-Based Adaptation to Climate Change project #PEBACC+.
