Through case studies from Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, and Fiji, the Kiwa WISH+ team demonstrated how watershed protection and restoration can improve water quality, reduce pollution and strengthen communities’ climate resilience.
The session also highlighted the development of decision-support tools to map disease risks, integrated interventions, from watershed reforestation to community-based actions and the importance of sustainable finance mechanisms, such as watershed funds, to ensure long-term impact.
