PEBACC +: Scaling-up ecosystem-based adaptation to climate change in the Pacific Islands

In Vaisei, pilot livestock farmers have had draining filter systems installed to significantly reduce contamination risks from Leptospirosis, a potentially fatal zoonotic disease. Native vegetation planting is the final step ahead.
The project team extended its sincere gratitude to the Lavelua, the Kingdom of Sigave, and the President of the Territorial Assembly for their warm reception and continued support throughout implementation.
The Kiwa PEBACC+ project demonstrates how NbS can deliver real climate adaptation outcomes for Pacific Island communities, combining ecosystem health with tangible public health benefits.
Congratulations to Francois Tron, the projet coordinator in New Caledonia and Wallis-and-Futuna, and loraini sivo the Kiwa PEBACC+ regional project manager.
