SARA, safeguarding, restoration and adaptation of seabird colonies and associated ecosystem services

The SARA project, “Sauvegarde, Restauration et Adaptation des Colonies d'Oiseaux Marins et des Services Écosystémiques Associés”, represents a significant commitment to the preservation of seabird colonies in New Caledonia.
Supported by the Kiwa Initiative, the project has successfully trained 10 local people as nature guards. They will play an essential role in monitoring seabirds, ensuring better protection of these vital ecosystems. This human reinforcement will complement the special devices that have been installed on 13 islets to support bird conservation.
