Micoast leads the way: Micronesia hosts a regional event on Nature-based Solutions for sustainable fisheries

The Kiwa Micoast team, is leading the organization of the Roots to Reefs and Beyond – Micronesia Fisheries Learning Event, to be held from 17–21 November 2025 in Koror, Palau.

Organized by Micoast in collaboration with the Pacific Community-SPC, Rare, and OneReef Worldwide Stewardship, the event will bring together community organizations, NGOs, researchers and regional partners from across the Pacific. Its aim: to share experiences, identify opportunities, and scale up Nature-based Solutions (NbS) for sustainable coastal fisheries management.

By convening practitioners from across Micronesia, Micoast is highlighting the power of regional collaboration to strengthen marine ecosystem resilience and support climate adaptation. This event embodies the spirit of the Kiwa Initiative: acting locally and collectively for a sustainable Pacific.
