RESICO: Biodiversity conservation to strengthen the resilience of rural communities

The Kiwa RESICO project was officially launched from 27 to 29 January 2026 between New Caledonia and Vanuatu. Over three days, more than ten partners were mobilised to actively launch the project’s five technical actions and structure a regional cooperation framework aimed at strengthening the resilience of agricultural systems to climate shocks.
On 27 and 28 January, the first technical committees clarified objectives, working methods and roles, andestablished a shared operational roadmap. On 28 January, the official launch brought together institutional partners and the Kiwa Initiative Secretariat, highlighting the project’s ambitions and regional relevance. On 29 January, the first steering committee confirmed the project’s strategic orientations, shared governance arrangements and next steps.
