PEBACC +: Scaling-up ecosystem-based adaptation to climate change in the Pacific Islands

In Tanna, Vanuatu, women and youth are increasingly involved in local environmental and climate decision-making. Through Kiwa PEBACC+ workshops, 75 women, 15 youth and 12 men discussed Nature-based Solutions (NbS), alternative livelihoods and climate adaptation.
Another highlight took place in Port Resolution, where the whole community engaged in mangrove planting to protect coastlines and strengthen resilience against climate impacts.
These initiatives signal a lasting shift: greater inclusion in environmental governance, leading to stronger and better-prepared communities.
