PEBACC +, Scaling-up Ecosystem-based Adaptation to climate change in the Pacific Islands

This Friday, March 11, 2022, the Initiative community welcomed the team of the second Kiwa regional project: PEBACC+.
This new Kiwa regional project, implemented by the Secretariat of the Pacific Regional Environment Program, aims to develop a participatory approach. The PEBACC+ team will rely on local communities to analyze the climatic and non-climatic threats as well as the services that the different ecosystems can provide, but also to identify the most favourable and robust adaptation options in the face of climate change in Fiji, Vanuatu, the Solomon Islands, New Caledonia and Wallis and Futuna.
The Director General of the Ocean Regional Environment Programme, Kosi LATU and the Director General of the French Development Agency Rémy Rioux, also representing the French Global Environment Facility (FFEM) signed the agreement of the new regional project in Noumea and in videoconference with the Initiative community, donors representatives and SPREP team.
