IUCN-ORO organizes a workshop in Fiji for local Kiwa project leaders
As part of the Kiwa Initiative, IUCN-ORO hosted nine local project leaders from Fiji, Tonga, Timor-Leste, Samoa, Palau and Vanuatu in Suva from 29 August to 2 September 2022.
Over the course of the week, several workshops were held where grantees were able to work on the implementation of their Kiwa Initiative project, from management to monitoring and evaluation, with the opportunity for cross-learning and lesson sharing.
On Thursday, September 1, participants went on a field trip to Sigatoka Sand Dunes National Park in Fiji, a Kiwa Initiative grant beneficiary for local projects in the region! This visit was an opportunity for participants to continue their formal and informal exchanges around a tree planting session.
This type of meeting illustrates the Kiwa Initiative's commitment to building a community of local climate change adaptation actors who are implementing #NbS Nature-based Solutions for community wellbeing and resilience!
Thanks to IUCN-ORO for organizing this week-long event.
