Donors and partners welcomed the progress already achieved: 41 projects funded, nearly EUR 80 million mobilized, more than 127,000 direct beneficiaries targeted at the end of the Kiwa Initiative, and nearly 16,000 hectares already engaged in conservation and restoration efforts since 5 years.
For Ms Mary Thurston, Consul General of New Zealand in Noumea, this contribution reflects “a deep commitment to locally driven, Nature-based Solutions that strengthen climate resilience across the region.”
H.E. Ms Véronique Roger-Lacan, Regional Ambassador of France for the Pacific, highlighted the work accomplished over the past five years to make the Kiwa Initiative “a reality serving the peoples of the Pacific.”
This contribution marks a key step in consolidating and expanding the impact of the Kiwa Initiative throughout the region.
