Learning from experience to take action: IUCN Oceania hosts a three-day workshop to share lessons from Kiwa local projects

The Oceania Regional Office of IUCN today launched a workshop in Nadi (Fiji) focused on sharing lessons learned from the Kiwa Initiative’s local projects. Held from 30 April to 2 May 2025, the event brings together project leaders to exchange insights, strengthen the implementation of Nature-based Solutions, and support climate adaptation throughout the Pacific.
Since 2021, the Kiwa Initiative is supporting more than 15 local projects across Pacific island countries and territories.
This event promotes the sharing of concrete experiences, helps new beneficiaries prepare for operational challenges, and creates a space for dialogue between project leaders, donors and partners to enhance collective impact.
Leituala Kuiniselani Toelupe Tago, Regional Director of IUCN Oceania, emphasised the importance of building on field-based knowledge to ensure more relevant, effective and high-quality actions.
This workshop fully reflects the spirit of collective learning and mutual support that drives the Kiwa community, in service of a more resilient Pacific in the face of climate challenges.
