Empowering Change: Gender equality, disability, and social inclusion #GEDSI are fundamental themes for the Kiwa Initiative® and its partners
At the annual meeting of our partner @SPREP last week, a #SPREP31 Gender and Inclusion event has been organized with support from the Kiwa Initiative® and the Pacific Climate Change Centre. According to Mr Sefanaia Nawadra, SPREP Director General: “Amplification of the Pacific voice also extends to gender, making sure that the parts of our community who are not well looked after are empowered and part of the discussions.”
Pacific Island Countries and Territories (PICTs) are setting an inspiring example. Congratulations to the #Solomon Islands for their dedicated efforts in integrating gender considerations into their climate change policies, involving government ministries.
A heartfelt “faafetai tela lava” to each of the donors of the Kiwa Initiative, for their commitment to placing gender equality and inclusion at the heart of their support for a #ResilientPacific. @DFAT was represented during the event by Katie Berryman.
Within the Kiwa Initiative®, valuable guidance and tools will be available to support Nature-based Solutions (NbS) projects that prioritize and advance the rights of all members of our diverse communities.
