Call for proposal 2021 now open for local projects!

On June 22, 2021, the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) hosted the official launch of the Kiwa Initiative's 2021 Call for Local Projects for Very Small, Small and Medium Grants. The event brought together the Initiative's donors and partners as well as civil society representatives from Pacific Island Countries and Territories.
This call is open until September, 30th 2021 for very small and small grants.
Local projects supported by the Kiwa Initiative must be based on Nature-based Solutions (NbS) for climate change adaptation.
What are the grants for local projects?
The Kiwa Initiative funds local projects between €25,000 (for very small projects) and €400,000 (for medium-sized projects).
Who can submit a local project proposal?
- Local or national authorities and public institutions from the 19 eligible countries and territories (link to map).
- Civil society organisations, community-based organisations, national NGOs and local associations.
- International NGOs provided the project is approved by the national authorities and a local stakeholder is involved in implementation.
