A look back at the first Kiwa Initiative regional workshop on #GEDSI
Human Rights-based Approach #HRBA, including Gender Equity, Disability and Social Inclusion #GEDSI are issues the Kiwa Initiative® is particularly attentive to promote in Nature-based Solutions #NbS in the framework of the Sustainable Development Goals #SDG #13 on Climate Action, #17 on Partnerships and #5 on Gender Equality.
Our partners Secretariat of the Pacific Regional Environment Programme (SPREP), the Pacific Community-SPC and IUCN-ORO promote capacity building and regional cooperation through project and policy development, thanks to the technical support they provide. They also ensure that #GEDSI is effectively addressed and best practices implemented in all Kiwa projects.
The first Kiwa Initiative Regional #workshop organized in May 2023 by Secretariat of the Pacific Regional Environment Programme (SPREP) with Pacific Community-SPC and IUCN-ORO, in partnership with Talanoa Consulting, gathered 35 people from Kiwa project leaders and partners in Suva, Fiji. The workshop socialised participants with key concepts and encouraged discussions about how human rights, including gender, matter in #NbS for climate change adaptation.
